Coronavirus Response

As we all wrestle with how to keep our families safe from and prevent the spread of the Coronavirus, I wanted to update you on Central’s response.  We are doing the following:

1. All ministries in our building scheduled during the week have been suspended until further notice.

2. All the groups that use our building during the week have been asked to not meet until further notice.

3.  All Sunday school classed have been asked not to meet until further notice.

4. Sunday morning worship has also been suspended.  However, we will be posting our weekly pre-recorded worship service on our Facebook page after 9:00 am Sunday and will have the Good News of the week and the sermon posted on our website (cumcwaco.com/sermons).  Pastor Bob will also be in the parking lot of Central to offer drive-thru pray and to-go communion with you from your car on Sunday mornings starting at 10:00 am if you would like to come by.  You can also drop off your offering of thanks to God and canned goods for Caritas.

We would also like to encourage you to remain faithful to God by looking to Him to ease your fears and anxieties, to find peace, comfort and healing, and to ask Him to be with those who have contracted the virus and with those who so courageously care for those who are sick.  We also ask that you continue to faithfully give thanks to God with your gifts to the church as we continue and seek new ways to grow the kingdom of God in these unchartered times.  You can give on our website (cumcwaco.com/giving-to-the-church), by mailing your gift to Central UMC, 5740 Bagby Ave., Waco 76712 or you can simply drop it in our church mailbox.  The pastor will also have a place to drop off your thankful giving on Sunday in the parking lot of the church starting at 10:00 am.

The church office, as of May 4, is open Mondays through Thursdays from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.

Until we all come together again, remember to breathe deep and know that God is still in control.  Take the appropriate action to stay safe and God bless you.
