Lent (Anglo-Saxon for “spring”) is the season of the Church marking the 40 days (not counting Sundays) between Ash Wednesday, March 1, and Easter Sunday, April 17. It is a time of reflection, repentance, and a return to God. It has also been a traditional time to “give something up.” But, a more appropriate way to look at the season of Lent is to see it as a time to make more room for God in our lives.
